Project Overview

A higher education Institute was looking to implement business process modernization across a wide range of functions across the university. This included HR Services, Audit and Risk Management, Asset Management and Inventory tracking as well as establishment of the organizational portfolio through service mapping. SMEs had identified significant inefficiencies and requirements around process optimization. This included needs for automation, task assignment and accountability, improved user experience and clear visibility for audit and reporting purposes.

ConfigureTek’s Approach

We leveraged our deep technical and process expertise across HRSD, Asset Management, Service Mapping, and GRC (Governance, Risk and Compliance) to target the institute’s high priority requirements. Each of these workstreams had implementation specialists, technical developers, business process consultants (where required), engagement manager and a platform architect providing leadership across the entire program.

Our team was able to be highly collaborative with The University in translating their requirements into specific user stories and tasks delegated to the development team. We led workshops, user story development, project and strategy planning, solution architecture, documentation, and development efforts. We leveraged our holistic expertise across the platform to obtain synergies across the workstreams. From a technical perspective, this involved net new implementations of HRSD, Hardware Asset Management and GRC (Governance, Risk and Compliance). This also involved significant improvements to the CMDB including rolling out ServiceNow discovery, updating integrations to using available ServiceGraph Connectors and initiating Service Mapping.

Results

We delivered significant results across wide ranging processes for the organization. By automating workflows, aligning highly impactful data sets and other development wins, we were able to modernize onboarding processes, HR lifecycle functions and the HR Service Desk experience. We were able to significantly improve asset and inventory level visibility and support The University in migrating away from legacy technologies. We were also able to provide automation, visibility, process, and workflow automation supporting government audit requirements.
