February 12, 2013 – ConfigureTek presented a solution for efficient software license compliance management during the “30 days to Automated License Management” webinar. The event was well-received by IT professionals across North America including IT managers, software asset management specialists and business analysts. Variety of industries that participants came from showed the importance of the effective software asset management in different companies.

ConfigureTek’s specialists, Anu Rao and Sandeep Babber, demonstrated a solution geared to automate the discovery and normalization of software assets. This straightforward and standardized mechanism aligns discovered software utilization data with business logic to support the management of contracts, entitlements, licenses, state of compliance and more. Incorporating role-based access and tailored reports that address audit requirements from software vendors and budgeting requirements of IT finance, the solution is geared to meet the needs of a range of internal and external stakeholders.

Sandeep Babber, ConfigureTek’s IT Asset Management Practice Lead, highlighted the functionality and usability of the Software License Compliance solution through his demonstration using HP Asset Manager. During this powerful demonstration, participants were able to visualize exactly what types of software asset information can be automatically discovered. Sandeep also highlighted the out-of-the-box flexibility that the solution provides in counting software asset installations (i.e. by CPU, by OS instance, etc.) tailored to measuring compliance by different criteria. Software asset dashboards highlighting over-spending, compliance risks and existing entitlements were also presented. The audience was able to see a range of powerful out-of-the-box reports that are geared to answer critical business questions including “how many of our software assets have not been used in the past 6 months.”

The Software License Compliance solution reduces the time and costs commonly associated with tracking and maintaining software licenses of any type, and lets companies avoid penalties and negative publicity in software audits. Moreover, measuring over-spending and cost for software installations’ compliance across company’s environment is a cornerstone of efficient asset management. All participants had an opportunity to see the technical capabilities such as viewing of discovered assets, software titles’ count, dashboards and templates, audit-friendly software reports, software counter customized reports.

The ConfigureTek team would like to thank all participants of the webcast for your attention.
